ABOUT
Somerset Dowsers (originally the West Somerset Dowsers) has been running since 2013. We are a friendly and welcoming group of all ages and experience from complete beginners and novices right through to expert and professional Dowsers. Although originally intended as a focus for the art of Dowsing in the West Country, many of us have come to the group through our interests in other, related energy modalities and the wide range of subjects covered in our talks and workshops reflect these varied interests.
We hold bi-monthly meetings with a range of speakers at Ruishton Village Hall, just outside Taunton (see bottom of page for map). We also arrange visits and outings to give people practical experience of dowsing in different environments and are always on the lookout for new venues to explore, so suggestions from members are always welcome.
During the Covid lockdown, Somerset Dowsers entered a collaboration with 4 other dowsing groups (Devon, Tamar, Trencrom and Thames Valley) to hold Zoom meetings which enabled our members to keep in touch. We soon realised that virtual meetings gave us the opportunity to invite experts from all over the world to join us, and we have heard from speakers in Canada, USA and New Zealand, as well as from many in far-flung parts of the UK. The idea has proved so successful that even as the groups have recommenced their individual in-person meetings, we are continuing our online collaboration.
Please see our Events page for more details of past and upcoming events. Talks at Ruishton are generally held on the last Thursday evening of every other month, with a small admission fee Please do come along to see what we’re all about and meet our friendly group.
If you are looking for assistance on a Dowsing matter - perhaps to locate a water source, or to clear unwanted energies from your home - please visit the British Society of Dowsers' website by following the link below. Here you will find a register of professional dowsers who will be able to help - and don't forget that you don't necessarily have to find someone local - dowsing can be done remotely, using maps or pictures to assist!
